You are not right!Shutting the engine off by pulling the side stand out is nothing else but pressing the red engine kill switch on the left handle. That is how it works - the side stand rellay when bike is not on neutral and the side stand is down cuts the electricity from the cable - rose one with blue stripe from the right side switch - the same as when you press engine kill switch. As for "dreaded kick back starter clutch gear striping" problem again you are not right. With my 3 years of trials I can say /and posted three months ago in the Forum/ that the only way o get rid of it is to replace the existing "starter idle gear #1" with "limiter assy" from newer Savages (>2000)
